SDG Goals Explorer Camp for kids aged 8-13 from July 27-31 at FoodHall TO.

Sustainable Development Goals Explorer Camp

The SDG Goals Explorer Camp is a one-week interactive summer program designed for children ages 8–13 to explore and understand the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Throughout the week, students

will participate in daily activities, creative projects, teamwork challenges, guided discussions, and collaborative group exercises that encourage leadership, critical thinking, and global citizenship.

Campers will learn how the SDGs connect to real-world issues such as hunger, climate action, equality, clean water, education, and sustainable communities.

Each day will focus on interactive lessons and hands-on activities that make learning meaningful, fun, and

age-appropriate. Students will work together in both individual and group settings to build confidence, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of how they can contribute positively to their communities and the world around them.

On the final day of camp, a local councillor/community leader will be invited to attend a special student presentation showcase where participants will share their learning, reflections, and understanding of the SDGs. Students will celebrate their achievements and

receive certificates recognizing their participation and accomplishments throughout the program.

To continue learning beyond the camp, each participant will receive: An SDG take-home learning kit with tools and resources to guide continued learning and action as they grow

The NextGen Kitchens: Young Chefs Summer Camp is a one-week interactive culinary and youth leadership program designed for youth ages 10–15. Through hands-on cooking experiences and dedicated leadership development activities, participants will build kitchen skills, confidence, teamwork, communication, and creativity in a fun and supportive environment.

This camp is designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible for all youth, regardless of experience level. Subsidized rates are available to help ensure every young person has the opportunity to participate, learn, and grow.

Throughout the week, campers will learn essential culinary skills including food preparation, kitchen safety, nutrition, and meal creation while participating in interactive cooking sessions and team challenges.

Beyond culinary training, participants will also take part in separate youth leadership and confidence-building workshops focused on communication, collaboration, responsibility, self-expression, and personal growth.

The program encourages youth to grow both inside and outside the kitchen by building independence, leadership skills, creativity, and positive social connections in a safe and engaging environment.
