I’ve spent my life in motion, juggling, walking on stilts, performing for crowds. Born in Mexico, my journey took me from street performances to Cirque du Soleil and Canada’s Got Talent. But what I’ve learned along the way is that the real magic isn’t in standing in the spotlight alone, it’s in helping others shine.
When I arrived in Canada, I felt lost. Without a work permit, I couldn’t work, and the days felt long and uncertain. Searching for a way to lift myself up, I found a simple but powerful idea: helping others helps you too. That’s how I found Feed Scarborough. I started volunteering, thinking I was just giving my time, but I was also finding purpose. I saw the strength of the Scarborough community, people from all over the world standing together, supporting one another, proving that when people unite, they become unstoppable.
Then something unexpected happened. I had stopped searching for a job and focused on giving my best, and that’s when opportunity found me. My work as a volunteer led to an offer to officially join the team. Now, as Warehouse & Kitchen Coordinator, I make sure food gets to where it’s needed most. But my job isn’t just about logistics, it’s about people. It’s about making sure no one feels alone in their struggles.
Because I know firsthand that sometimes, when you help others, you end up finding yourself.
